praying for The Pines…
“It is not enough that you love them, they must know they are loved.” —St. John Bosco
St. John Bosco is a boss. He’s also the patron of youth… and seeing as The Pines summer staff officially began training/formation at dinner tonight, I’m starting this novena today. It will end as they wrap up training and rest up over the weekend for a long, hard summer of missionary work and relational ministry.
Join me? I’m praying for summer staff, for all the counselors, for all campers past and future… most of all, that God would continue to use that place and those people to draw young people into a deeper knowledge of His heart and His love for them!
As long as faith gives me strength, I will always be joyful!
We must open our eyes to admire God who hides and at the same time reveals himself in things and introduces us into the realms of mystery… we must be pure and simple like children, capable of admiring, being astonished, of marveling, and being enchanted by the divine gestures of love and closeness we witness.

Would that I could set the whole world on fire with the love of God!

Jesus loves you always, even when you don’t feel worthy. When not accepted by others, even by yourself sometimes, He is the one who always accepts you. Only believe, you are precious to him. Bring all you are suffering to His feet, only open your heart to be loved by Him as you are. He will do the rest.

keep struggling.
“Keep struggling, so that the Sacrifice of the Altar really becomes the center and the root of your interior life, and so your whole day will turn into an act of worship—an extension of the Mass you have attended and a preparation for the next. Your whole day will be an act of worship that overflows in aspirations, visits to the Blessed Sacrament and the offering up of your professional work and your family life.”
—St. Josemaria Escriva

Nothing is more practical than finding God, than falling in love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, whom you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.
Fall in Love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.
